Welcome to Lookout Credit Union

Since 1952, we’ve proudly served Pocatello educators and families by offering excellent rates and superior financial services. We couldn’t accomplish that without embracing change along the way, and have grown from 5 original members to more than 28,000 members strong. In
December, we shared the exciting news of change on the horizon: that we will be adopting a new name to better reflect our mission and growing membership.
We are excited to announce our new name and give you more information about what’s ahead. On February 1, we enthusiastically opened our doors as Lookout Credit Union.
Lookout is a name full of pride and potential. It reflects our enthusiasm and connects us with our growing Southeastern Idaho community. It values our passion for helping members thrive and flourish. Because a lookout is a guide. A beacon. Someone you can count on. And though our name is changing, our mission remains the same: we exist to improve the financial lives of member-owners.
As Lookout Credit Union, we will continue to enhance our capability for long-term sustainable growth. We are honored to serve our current members, and look forward to welcoming more Idahoans who can benefit from what we have to offer, and strengthen our overall organization as new members. Our new name will help us to do this by removing confusion around membership eligibility — and expanding access to communities across our state.
Our new name is only the beginning of our transformation. You’ll soon see exciting changes in our branch, online, and even the debit and credit cards in your wallet — all designed to better serve you today and into the future. - Why Lookout Credit Union?
The name Lookout Credit Union will help us welcome even more of our Idaho neighbors into the many benefits of a member-owned financial institution. It’s a name that helps us tell our story about providing opportunities to learn, discover and connect with our members to help them thrive.
- When will the name change take effect?
On February 1st, Idaho State University Credit Union will officially switch names to Lookout Credit Union. Changes in our branch will take several weeks and months following that date.
- What will change with the new name?
You will see our new name and logo updated on exterior branch signage, new brochures, an updated website, and other branded communications. But our goal with these changes is to go beyond replacing our old name and logo. We are working to overall improve our members’ experience with the credit union through branch enhancements, improved technology, and many other initiatives. We look forward to sharing more exciting news with you ahead.
- Is the name change a result of a merger or acquisition?
No. The name change is not the result of a merger or acquisition of any kind. We will continue to be owned by you, our members, just as we are today.
- Will the ownership of the credit union remain the same?
Yes. The credit union will remain 100% owned by you, the members
- Why are you changing the name of the Credit Union?
Growing our membership means growing our benefits and services for our members. Our name is part of our long-range plan to build a growing and relevant organization that is inclusive of every member and market we serve.
- Who will be eligible to join credit union?
Our charter remains the same.
- Will this name change be expensive?
Our Board and Management have built a solid financial institution by making prudent and strategic business decisions that ensure our growth and financial health. This investment in our long-range vision has been carefully considered and approved by our highly engaged Board of Directors.
- How will fees, loan rates and deposit rates be impacted by the name change?
Rates and fees will not be affected by the name change. We will continue to monitor our rates and fees as we always have to ensure high value and return to our members. Rates and fees do fluctuate, as they adjust in response to market conditions.
- Will my deposits remain insured by NCUA?
Yes. Deposit accounts for each share owner remain federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.
- Will the routing number change?
No, our routing number will remain #324173639
- Will my account numbers, usernames, and passwords change?
No, your account numbers, usernames, and passwords will remain the same.
- Will I still be able to use my checks?
Yes, your checks will still work. When it’s time for you to re-order, new checks with the new name of the credit union will be issued.
- Will my Mastercard credit card still work?
Yes, your current card will continue to work until its expiration date. Your account numbers and member numbers will also not change. We are excited to be issuing credit cards with the Lookout Credit Union logo ahead, and you will receive separate communications specifically about your card when this change happens.
- Will my Mastercard debit card/ATM card and PIN number still work?
Yes, your current debit card/ATM card and PIN number will continue to work as they always have until its expiration date. We will also be issuing debit cards with the new logo ahead, and you will receive separate communications specifically about your new debit card.
- If I have automatic payments taken from my account or receive direct deposit, will I need to do anything?
No. Everything will stay the same. Our routing number will not change and your account number will remain the same. Therefore, it is not necessary to take any steps to update automatic payments or direct deposit.
- Do I need to get my legal documents (e.g. liens, titles, insurance) updated with the new name?
In most cases, your documents will be unaffected by the name change. Please contact us at 208-235-7100 if you have specific questions about your legal documents.
- To whom should I make my loan payments?
Loan payments (or any checks payable to the credit union) can be made to Lookout Credit Union effective immediately. Checks payable to ISU Credit Union will also be accepted for the duration of 2021.
- Will the employees at my credit union branch change?
No. The employees that you’ve grown accustomed to serving you at your branch will be here to serve you with the same personalized service that you expect.
- Will the credit union phone numbers, website and email addresses change?
- Will branch days of operation and hours change?
No. Our branch will continue to be open and available to you the same days and times that you expect. Currently, lobbies are closed due to COVID-19 concerns, but drive-thru service is available as well as all online banking digital channels.
- Will there be any change in my statements?
There will not be any changes to the statement cycle. Keep a watch in your mail for our new statement stationary with the new name beginning in March.
